There are recipes… and then there are FAMILY recipes. This is my mother’s Sunday Sauce, the kind that filled the whole house with the smell of garlic, tomatoes, simmering meat, and love from the moment the sun came up on Sunday morning.
This isn’t a quick sauce. This is an ALL DAY affair. The kind of sauce that brings everybody into the kitchen asking, “When we eatin’?” The kind where Italian bread gets dunked right into the pot while nobody’s looking. The kind of meal tied to church on Sunday mornings, old Italian music playing in the background, memories of grandparents cooking together, and family gathered around the table laughing loud.
I still remember my mother getting up early before church, putting this giant pot on the stove, and letting that sauce simmer low and slow all day long. When we came home, the house smelled DAHLICIOUS. You could smell the garlic and tomatoes before you even opened the door.
So put on your music, Make a cup of Cawfee, grab your biggest pot, and cook this with love. Because this recipe is more than food. It’s family, tradition, memories, and blessing the people around your table.
